All aestetics aside you might think about doing your research a little better:
Most of these logos or mascots are lot older than the stuff than you've compared them to. Rather than claiming the logos as the problem you might be asking why this other stuff looks like these logos.
The BYU "Y" was used in the 70's and 80's years before Yahoo was even a dream. The Duke Blue Devil has been used since 1924. The Hilltoppers is a reference to Scottish Heritage much like Highlanders. The current likeness of the Jayhawk started being used in 1941. The founder of Red Robin wasn't even born yet. The NC State Logo has been used since 1972 while the current Stanford incarnations was several years later. The WSU Shockers name reflects the University's heritage: Early students earned money by shocking, or harvesting, wheat in nearby fields. Apparently you're too young to know better.

The Western Kentucky campus is located on top of a hill, thus Hilltoppers. I know it is really hard to understand the idea of word-compounding.

You must be from Creighton University. No one else could be that stupid. You know what a shocker is? It's someone who shocks wheat, retard. That's what it meant before anything else you perverted piece of crap. Get yourself together. And let me just say so you can hear it one more time-- you write for uglyfugly.com. I write for the number one high school sports website in the state of Kansas (and I'm just a sophomore in high school myself), so don't try and get out of this one with, "What site do YOU write for?" Sorry, buddy.

NCSU was established in 1887 while Stanford was established in 1891. Now where I come from 87 comes before 91. If anyone is copying anyone, it's Stanford. Maybe you should switch your story around.

1) NCSU used the block S first. 2) how bout Mich St. and Syracuse? at least NCSU adds an N and C. 3) You write for "uglyfugly.com" 4) I'm glad you corrected "Standford" which you had before. That's why you're writing for uglyfugly.com. 5) Go eat some nails please.

One would think that someone trying to be so funny while being so snide would be capable of using spellcheck. If your brother has your spelling skills, maybe he shouldn't bother filling out a college application to begin with, junior. Oh yeh, left out that NC State's block S outdates Stanford's (or Standford's, if you prefer).
Also, good call on BYU. I'm sure they jumped in a time machine to steal Yahoo's Y logo.
Congrats on the epic amounts of FAIL you brought with this "article"

Look Look! The Michigan State logo looks suspiciously like the Syracuse logo.
I noticed a pair of similar things so I better hop online & post about it. I'm sure millions of other people haven't noticed similarities like these before!
You really are a dipshit aren't you?

To make your point even better you might mention that our football team won only one home game last year and hasn't won homecoming in forever either. a stupid logo for a bad team. it works. and just to clarify, I am in the music department. I don't even bother going to football games. We all know how they end up 28 other team- 0 us.
